Statement Screen Flanders
News 02.10.2026We were informed on Wednesday that the Screen Flanders economic support measure will be discontinued as of 1 January 2027.
“Given its crucial role in sustaining a strong and economically viable audiovisual sector in Flanders, we deeply regret this decision. Screen Flanders has been a key driver in attracting international co-productions, leveraging the Belgian Tax Shelter and generating significant economic impact.”
Karla Puttemans – CEO VAF (Flanders Audiovisual Fund)
Every €1 invested by Screen Flanders has resulted in approximately €8 of audiovisual expenditure in Flanders. In 2025 alone, Screen Flanders invested €4.9 million in 22 projects, generating more than €40.2 million in audiovisual spending in the region. We sincerely hope that this proven multiplier effect will not be overlooked.
