Attack On Paradise selected for Fantastia Festival
News 03.07.2026The action film Attack On Paradise by Said Boumazoughe and Bob Colaers has been selected for the Fantasia Festival in Montréal, Canada (16 July–2 August). The film will have its world premiere there in the Horizon section. Fantasia is one of the most important and leading international film festivals for genre films.
Attack On Paradise tells the story of Suleyman, who is released after seven years in prison, determined to pick up his life again. However, his home, the apartment block Paradise, has in the meantime fallen into complete disrepair and been taken over by gangs and drug dealers.
On the very day of his return, the police decide to raid Paradise. Suleyman finds himself caught up in the violence, with just one goal: to find his mother and get her to safety. Alongside rookie police officer Yasmine, Suleyman battles his way up, floor by floor.
Attack On Paradise is directed by Bob Colaers, based on a screenplay by Said Boumazoughe, Sven Huybrechts and Salahdine Ibnou Kacemi. The leading roles are played by Achmed Akkabi, Said Boumazoughe and Clara Cleymans.
Attack On Paradise is a production by Hendrik Verthé for A Team Productions, in co-production with the Dutch company Aattache Films. Kinepolis Film Distribution (KFD) will release the film in Belgian cinemas from 23 September. International rights sales are being handled by London-based Blue Finch Film Releasing.
Paradise was made with the support of the VAF/Film Fund and the economic fund Screen Flanders.
