Dust selected for Berlinale competition & Heysel 85 Special Gala Screening

The feature film Dust, directed by Anke Blondé, has been selected for the Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival (12–22 February). It marks the first time since Hugo Claus’ Vrijdag (1981) that a Flemish feature film has been in contention for the Golden Bear. Last week, the festival also announced that the feature film Heysel 85 by Ana Teodora Mihai will have its world première at the Berlinale as a Special Gala Screening.

Screen Flanders invests €2.95 million in 15 new projects

Screen Flanders, VLAIO's economic fund for the audiovisual industry, is investing €2,950,000 in 15 new audiovisual productions. Due to the high demand and exceptional quality of the applications, Flanders’ Economic Affairs Minister Matthias Diependaele decided to increase the initial budget by €1.4 million. This additional investment enabled Screen Flanders to support eight more projects.

Julian is the feature debut of Cato Kusters and the first production of The Reunion, the production house of Michiel and Lukas Dhont.
