Walking The Dog
Meet the producersThe production company and animation studio Walking The Dog put itself on the map working with acclaimed directors such as Ari Folman (Where Is Anne Frank), Raul de la Fuente (Another Day Of Life), Bibo Bergeron (A Monster in Paris) and Sylvain Chomet (The Magnificent Life Of Marcel Pagnol).
Walking The Dog’s most recent international co-productions include the animated feature films Charlotte (directed by Eric Warin and Tahir Rana), Richard The Stork And The Mystery Of The Jewel (directed by Benjamin Quabeck and Mette Tange), and Fox And Hare Save The Forest (directed by Mascha Halberstad), as well as the animated series Royals Next Door (directed by Veronica Lassenius). Its latest project is Sylvain Chomet’s new animated film about the life, success and struggles of French writer, teacher, film director and producer Marcel Pagnol.
All of these productions were supported by Screen Flanders.

Where is Anne Frank
The film Where Is Anne Frank, which premièred at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, translates the story of Anne Frank to the world of today. Walking The Dog put together 30% of the total financing for the film, bringing five partners on board: the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), the economic funds Screen Flanders and Screen Brussels, the Belgian Tax Shelter, and financing from the Centre du Cinéma at de l’Audiovisual (French Community). Walking The Dog had a team of almost 70 people working on the film, from the storyboard and animatic, to almost 50% of the animation of the film, as well as compositing and special effects.
Animation studio
Walking The Dog is a boutique studio which earned its stripes working on titles such as The Triplets of Belleville, The Secret Of Kells, Jack And The Cuckoo-Clock Heart, and The Congress. The fact that it combines computer-generated and classical hand-drawn animation gives it the opportunity to participate in CGI-movies such as Fox And Hare Save The Forest, a co-production between the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium, which will be released in 2023.
Walking The Dog is asked more and more to take the lead. We are not only doing a lot of animation, but we also figure out the pipeline, the entire co-production structure and the workflow.
Co-producing with Walking The Dog:
Founded in 1999, Walking The Dog is an independent production company and animation studio based in Brussels and Genk, focusing mainly on animated features from acclaimed directors. Its strength as a co-producer is being in control, nailing both the legal and the artistic components up-front, avoiding issues along the way.
With a track record that proves the company can deliver, Walking The Dog is increasingly asked to join ambitious, high-quality international projects that are expected to have an impact around the world.
