On 14 July 2021, a devastating flood of unprecedented proportions irrevocably changed the lives of residents in Germany's Ahr Valley. While her friendship with Nicola suffers under the weight of grief and guilt over losing Alex, Lena discovers that her father, head of the crisis prevention unit, could be involved in the fatal mistakes that led to the disaster.

Nikolaus Stein Von Kamienski wrote the screenplay and will also direct the miniseries. The impressive flood scenes will be shot with a specialised Flemish team at the LITES water studio in Vilvoorde.

Die Flut
