Between 10 and 12 selected for IFFR Limelight

Between 10 and 12, the debut feature by director Peter Hoogendoorn, has been selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam (21 January – 1 February). The film will receive its Dutch premiere in the new Limelight section of the festival, which highlights striking work by talented newcomers. Minds Meet and Mollywood co-produced the feature for Flanders with the support of the Screen Flanders Economic Fund.

Between 10 and 12 shows how a devastating piece of news delivered by two officers in a police car changes the lives of a family forever. As the journey progresses, the vehicle becomes more and more crowded with family members, picked up from home, work, the hairdressers… As they sit in the back seat, alone with their memories, what they thought they knew about life and relationships is violently altered. And while the focus of their despair is all too clear, around them everyday things begin to lose meaning as the world becomes increasingly absurd.

Writer-director Peter Hoogendoorn developed the script at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam and presented the project at Rotterdam's CineMart co-production platform in 2010. Earlier this year, the film received its international premiere in the Official Competition of the Venice Days.

Between 10 and 12 is produced by Keren Cogan Films and Phanta Film from the Netherlands, in co-production with Dutch broadcaster AVRO‐TROS and Unlimited from France. Belgian co-producers of this real-time road movie are Guy and Wilfried Van Baelen of Mollywood and Tomas Leyers of Brussels-based Minds Meet (Lucifer, I’m the same I’m an other, Violet).

Between 10 and 12 is supported by the Screen Flanders economic fund, under the aegis of Economic Affairs Minister Philippe Muyters and Cultural Affairs Minister Sven Gatz.
