Cookie policy
The cookie policy governs the use of cookies and similar technologies as part of your use of our website and related services.

1. Who are we?
This website is the property of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (abbreviated VAF) with company number 0475.795.886 whose registered office is located at Bischoffsheimlaan 38 in 1000 Brussels. Where this policy mentions "We", "We", "Us", "Our", this clearly means VAF.
You can reach us at the above address or by email at privacy@vaf.be.
2. Introduction
VAF uses its own cookies (so-called first-party cookies) and cookies from third parties whose services are (or may be) used on the website (third-party cookies). In the article 5 you will find an overview of all cookies with their respective purpose, retention period, who places them and who receives them.
3. What are cookies?
These are small information files that are stored on the device you use to visit our website, such as a computer, tablet or smartphone, when you visit. Where we refer to "cookies" below, this also includes other similar techniques such as pixels, plug-ins, trackers, reCaptcha, etc. Cookies make it possible to recognise your web browser. Useful, because then you don't have to indicate your preferences or change your settings every time. This way, we can also make our website work better, we gain insight into visitor behaviour on the website and other parties can gain insight into your surfing behaviour so that they can display personalised advertisements.
We would also like to give a word about the social media cookies used to integrate various social networking sites on our website. Indeed, embedded third-party elements, or in other words content stored with a third party, may also be displayed on our website. In addition, content may be shared via social networking sites through the buttons present on the various pages. Examples of such social networking sites are Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.
We use essential, functional, analytical and marketing cookies. With the exception of essential and functional cookies, we ask your consent before placing these small information files. The processing of essential and functional cookies (necessary for the proper functioning of our website) is based on our agreement to provide you with a well-functioning website.
The cookies are personal data. You can find more information about the processing of your personal data in our privacy policy.
Cookies do not compromise the security of your computer.
4. Types of cookies
4.1. Provenance
First-party cookies are cookies managed by VAF that are specific to its website.
Third-party cookies are cookies managed and placed by a third party. These cookies therefore ensure that certain data is sent to third parties by your visit to our website.
4.2. Lifetime
Permanent cookies remain on your device (desktop, laptop, smartphone, etc.) for the lifetime of the cookie. Each time you visit our website, they are activated.
Session cookies only apply to the current session and are deleted when you close the browser.
4.3. What is the purpose of these cookies?
Functional cookies ensure that all parts of the website function optimally and are properly secured.
Non-functional cookies have statistical and commercial purposes.
Analytical cookies allow us to understand how visitors to our website navigate between different pages, from which region they visit us. Based on this information, a statistical analysis is made to make the structure, navigation and content of our website more pleasant and to improve it.
Via the marketing cookies you receive a personalised online advertising offer. Through your surfing behaviour, how and where you click, we and third parties gain insight into the performance of our campaigns.
Social media cookies are also marketing cookies and are placed via buttons of the social media sites (such as Facebook, X, Youtube, Pinterest, ...) that are placed on our website and passed on to these social media. VAF has no influence on the use of and the way they handle these data. More information on this can be found in the privacy statements of these third parties whose links can be found at the bottom of the list of cookies (see point 5.2.).
