About us

Screen Flanders is the Flanders government's economic measure to support feature films and series in the Flanders Region. The aim of the measure is to provide an economic stimulus to the Flanders audiovisual sector and to put the region on the map as an attractive partner for international co-productions.

Through Screen Flanders, Belgian producers can apply to receive up to 400,000 euros in refundable advances by way of economic support to cover their audiovisual expenses in the Flanders Region. These expenses can be related to the production or post-production of the project. Foreign producers interested in applying to the fund can co-produce with a Belgian producer who satisfies all the selection criteria.

Screen Flanders is also your first stop for information on all aspects of audiovisual production in the Flanders Region, from potential film locations, permits and financing to audiovisual facilities.

Screen Flanders is an initiative of VLAIO in collaboration with the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), where VLAIO provides the annual budget and VAF handles the applications, promotion and communication.

Screen Flanders falls under the remit of Economic Affairs Minister Matthias Diependaele, in close cooperation with Cultural Affairs Minister Caroline Gennez.
